I have been a tax accountant for 27 years and, like you, am considering the Internet as a potential source for new business–that is, until I spoke with my partner. What she said to me really hit home: “Do we really want that kind of business? Why not run an add in the Pennysaver?”
Her point is well taken. Given your limited budget, set aside your shyness and consider using your 5 grand to promote yourself in person. Offer to speak at public events or even have someone else host a “meet and greet” cocktail party with you as the “featured guest and speaker.”
The old saw still applies: “You can’t beat the personal touch.”
